Hey, I’m Toby!
I’m an illustrator trained in Sweden and the UK, with a bachelor’s degree in illustration.
I work with book illustration, book and comic book covers, game art, concepts, decoration, editorial illustration and marketing artwork - and I’m always looking to try new things!
In my self directed work I am often inspired by folklore, fantasy, classic literature, history and nature. Academically I’m interested in the social and cultural impact of visual arts and fiction, both through content and representation as well as the mechanics and methods of communication.
Besides images I make clothing and costumes, and when there is occasion I sculpt, build and design everything from packaging to rooms to signage, embroidery and more. I am always looking to broaden my practice and try new things - if you are interested in collaboration please do send me a message!
I also run the micro-publisher Tebreus Press.
These days I live in the countryside of Gotland, Sweden with my amazing partner and our very very long borzoi puppy.
